Job Description:
A Technology client located in Research Triangle Park,
NC is looking for a Contracts Manager for an ongoing
contract opportunity. The Contracts Manager will provide
legal and commercial support to the Sales and Delivery
organizations covering the Americas theatre. An ideal candidate
will have a strong background in contractual law related to the
provision of services. This company is continuing to grow and views
the Contracts Manager as an essential position.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Contracts Manager Job
include:

- Reviewing and structuring non-standard Statements of Work
(SOW) for professional services deals/offerings within the
boundaries of Company’s legal and commercial policies.
- Overall responsibility of the role will be to work
closely with the Advanced Services Delivery Teams, Services Sales
Teams, Corporate Revenue Teams, Corporate Legal Teams and
Commercial Finance Teams to provide legal and commercial assurance
with respect to SOW-based services to be provided to
customers.
- Through strong leadership, business partnering,
communication and influencing skills the candidate will be able to
build trust and confidence within the business.
- Responsible for ensuring the successful and efficient
process of Services deals review and approval.
- Advise and assist the Sales teams during SOW/deal
negotiation with Customers.
- Advise and assist the Sales teams during SOW/deal
negotiation with Subcontractors.
- Determine appropriate actions and solutions for the more
complex legal and business issues related to the services
offered.
- Adjust actions and decisions for focus on critical
issues. Bring perspectives and approaches together, combining them
in new and creative ways.
Minimum requirements and experience for this job
are:

- Typically requires BS/BA degree or equivalent with 5-8
years broad commercial and corporate experience
- Legal qualification an advantage
- Pre-Signature Contracts Management experience an
advantage
- Bid Management experience an advantage
- Ability to review contracts within legal databases and
have the ability to understand/interpret contract language to
ensure the legal terms cover the services ordered and apply
business policies and process as required.
- Commercial and financial knowledge an
advantage.
- Experience in commercial negotiation with customers
and/or subcontractors.
- Ability to translate commercial/legal scenarios into
simple language, business issues professionally.
- Must have a highly commercial approach and be able to
thrive in a fast paced sales-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English,
negotiation and persuasion skills, including the ability to weigh
and articulate the risk and benefit of various scenarios and
propose effective resolutions and make timely and sound
decisions.
- Ability to work successfully with various levels (mid to
senior management) across geographies. The individual will have the
ability to operate well in a cross-functional team setting, and
foster strong relationships with the sales teams, support team
members, suppliers, partners or customers.
- Competent in drafting complex clauses and contracts and
assisting and advising legal in drafting wording affecting
services.
- Good knowledge of telecommunications
industry.
- Ability to manage a high volume workload.
- Ability and willingness to take independent decisions and
actions and be an instrument of change.
