ABOUT THE POSITIONThe System Administrator will be responsible for
managing and administrating daily systems operations, as well as
being the escalation point for Desktop Support Technicians. The
position calls for outstanding technical and communication skills
and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced credit union. The role is
high visibility and high customer-touch, so an upbeat, positive
attitude combined with a passion for delivering first-in-class IT
services is essential to success. This role will help the
leadership team drive consistent IT service and performance across
the enterprise and will participate and support the onsite,
face-to-face engagement with key stakeholders and functional peers.
Also, this role will need to have knowledge of and support critical
business IT services, planning, development, and execution
consistent with the business culture and best practice.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK
- Responsible for installing and configuring VMware virtualized
desktop and server images adhering to credit union standards,
diagnosing, and resolving communications, hardware, and operating
system problems; implementing, and monitoring system security
procedures.
- Provide advanced technical support for desktops, laptops,
printers, software, and other associated hardware connected to a
user's device and business servers.
- Assist Desktop Support Technicians with Level I/II issues as
well provide Level III support, troubleshooting and fault isolation
on computers, servers, and related system components to maintain
system availability and integrity.
- Support the management of all Windows Servers Operating Systems
supporting credit union operations for both administrative and
transactional systems.
- Participate in the planning, designing, and developing of
VMware virtualization for both server and desktop
environments.
- Manage and maintain consistent client patch management process
to ensure compliance of all endpoints with vendor security and
bug-fix releases.
- Research, recommend, install, and test hardware, software, and
network configurations for computer and server systems to provide
an information system which effectively meets credit union
needs.
- Manage the monitoring and testing systems performance for
potential bottlenecks, identifying possible solutions, and work to
implement those fixes.
- Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine
applicability and value to agency operations.
- Develop documents and procedures for the design, operation and
troubleshooting of virtualized server and desktop platforms;
develops and documents project plans and updates to ensure complete
follow-through.
- Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly
accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to
improve.JOB QUALIFICATIONSHere are a few skills you MUST have to be
qualified for this position.
- Associate's degree in computer science or information
technology.
- 5-7 years of experience in supports Windows Systems in an
enterprise environment.
- 3-5 years of experience managing and administrating desktop and
server environment, including deployment, application installation,
and ongoing full stack support technologies.
- Practical experience with the following IT environments: IT
Infrastructure, Cloud (AWS/Azure), Virtual Server environments
(e.g., VMWARE), Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365,
SharePoint, and Security.
- Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft's Office/365 and
family of products (Outlook, MS/Word, MS/Excel, etc.) and VMware
VDI environments.
- Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment
and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to:
PC, copier, telephone, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer
printer)
- Travel required sometimes.Here are a few qualities we'd LIKE

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information
technology.
- Advanced writing skills in documenting procedures and
configurations that are clear and concise.
- Strong experience in managing infrastructure solutions across
storage, disaster recovery, BCP, virtualization, networking,
systems administration.
- Familiarity with core banking systems and ancillary
applications.
- Familiarity in industry frameworks such as NIST and ITIL as
well regulatory areas such as NCUA, FDIC and PCI.
- Experience with IT process and organization change management
