Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry - Clinical Pre & Post Unit (Cardiac) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours can be offered Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: NC or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: IV Start and Telemetry Job Description: - RTO after booking is not allowed and is not permitted to be managed onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation and DNR. - Ratios of patients per nurse are typically 1:5-6. - First-time travelers are accepted for this unit. - Floating to similar units is required as needed. - Required to work 4 weekend shifts per each 6-week schedule. - Patient diagnoses include pre/post Cath procedures, PPM & AICD, Watchmen procedures, stress tests, arterial and venous sheath management, TIA population, carotid stent patient management, cardiac telemetry, arrhythmia management, and management of cardiac drips. - Special procedures or unit details include managing pre and post-cardiac procedural patients in a 24-bed unit with rapid patient turnover, with an average length of stay of 1.8-2.4 days. - An ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer) nurse is available Monday-Friday during peak patient transition times. - Any absences must be made up at the end of the contract, and cannot be made up as additional shifts. Weekend absence requires make-up shift discretion per the 2020 policy. - A block schedule cannot be guaranteed at any time, though efforts will be made to accommodate scheduling requests. - Must pass EKG testing before starting in this specialty. - Vaccine Requirements: COVID-19 vaccine is not required. Flu vaccine is mandatory, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons only. - Fatigue policy restricts working more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours a week. - Pre-start modules and annual learning requirements are non-billable and recorded via online learning platforms, webinars, and in-person classes. - Orientation is 8 hours non-billable.
