qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27103 Pay
Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 1 year required
License: NC or Compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have:
- IV start skills - Experience with vents, telemetry, and
CPAP/BiPAP - Capability in interpretation/management of
dysrhythmias Job Description: - The unit accepts first-time
travelers. - Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients. -
Target ratios 1:4-5, with possible extreme situations of 1:6. - 36
- 48 hours can be offered. Overtime is available after 48 hours. -
Contracts from 13 weeks accepted up to March 15, 2025. - Required
to float to similar units when necessary. - Weekend requirement
includes 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks; additional shifts as needed.
- Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, respiratory
distress, COVID-19, flu, pulmonary embolisms, chronic trach/vent
patients, and comorbidities. - Ventilators on unit for chronic
trach/vent patients with no more than one vent patient per nurse. -
Support available with a team lead, respiratory therapists,
assistant nurse manager, and various health and access teams. -
Special equipment includes chest tubes and drips such as dopamine,
cardizem, and heparin. - Unit systems include Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR. -
Block scheduling can be accommodated. - Scrubs: white or navy blue.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start. - RTO of up to 7 days
allowed, excluding the first week and holidays. - Compliance with
fatigue policy restricting working over 5 consecutive days and/or
60 hours in a week. - Pre-start modules are non-billable, ranging
